Blooming wonderful weekend for Open Gardens 2019 with over 700 visitors!

We had a super Open Gardens weekend when around 700 visitors flocked to the 16 venues that were available to see on 29th and 30th June.

The feedback was very positive and the organisation was impeccable. Many thanks to Dave Murcott, John Smith and their team of helpers, and of course the gardener hosts, in enabling so many people to have so much enjoyment. We are so lucky to have such a range of wonderful but contrasting gardens. And we got some good coverage in both the Lichfield Mercury and Tamworth Herald which all helps to boost the village's reputation.

Following hard on the Open Garden heels the Heart of England in Bloom judges visited the village on 5th July and, boy, were they impressed! There was an all out effort by residents, trough managers, businesses, the Parish Council, contractors, District Council and WFEG volunteers and the village looked wonderful.

The Bloom judges made their satisfaction that we had taken on board their feedback from last year very plain. So now we must wait until September 5th to know our fate, but we are very optimistic!

Many thanks to all who contributed in any way and lets maintain our efforts to keep our village beautiful.
