River of Flowers Project wins support from Tesco's Bags of Help initiative!

Brilliant news!

The village River of Flowers (RoF) project has been shortlisted for a grant from Tesco’s Bags of Help initiative ‪#‎BagsofHelp. Your support is needed to make sure that RoF wins a share of these funds – which could be up to £12,000. RoF involves many village groups in a community-wide project aiming to bring nature into the heart of Whittington and Fisherwick.

Tesco is holding a public vote at its Lichfield stores from Sat 27th Feb to Sunday 6th March and every shopper will be able to vote for our project (you’ll have to make a purchase).

So much more could be done to beautify our villages and help our wildlife if we can get a BIG share of these funds. Please get along to Tesco between the dates above and use your vote to help to make sure RoF wins! Do spread the word too with friends and relatives.

We’ll be distributing a leaflet in the village with more information shortly – and there’ll be a consultation event for villagers to help formulate the plans for spending the money – once we know how much is available.
